At IRF 2022, A Demand For Action announced an initiative to address rampant land theft affecting Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac Christians, Yezidis, and other minorities.
Leading members of Congress have expressed their concern to Ambassador Rashad Hussain, Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, requesting updates on the current situation and what the United States can be doing to facilitate a resolution that is equitable for minorities.
This is an important first step in addressing this problem which has plagued minorities since the 2003 invasion. The lead signatories are Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky of Illinois and Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California, with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo of California, Congressman Josh Harder of California, and Congressman Andy Levin of Michigan co-signing.
We are grateful to these members of Congress for their ongoing efforts to support our community and look forward to continuing to work with them to find tangible solutions to the issues facing our people.
ADFA also spoke to the US government and other such bodies about a recent survey that was done among refugees in Lebanon who fled ISIS and other terrororganisations. Why are survivors of the genocide of 2014 forgotten?
